A couple basics for you...
What is a WOD?
WOD is an acronym that stands for Workout Of the Day. CrossFit is practiced worldwide. Headquarters and Affiliates issue WODs that everyone completes for scores.
What is a Box?
A Box is simply the term we use to describe CrossFit locations. We are not a gym, or a fitness club. Our location is open and spacious and versitile to adapt to the wide variety of workouts we do.
Do I need special gear?
Need, no. Want, yes. CrossFit shoes will improve your ability to climb, push and have more traction. They are not required, but after you begin, you will likely want them. Other than that, workout in whatever makes you comfortable. For women we suggest a body conforming shirt (at least the underlayer).
One final thought for newbies...or soon to be newbies...don't be intimidated! It's not too hard. It hasn't been too long since you've exercized. You're not too out of shape, too inexperienced, or too old to start today. We scale workouts to your individual fitness levels. You can do it!
